Where do lessons take place?
All lessons take place at Rhythm Lounge Studios in Walnut Creek, CA. A second studio location will be opening in the Fall of 2010 in Lafayette, CA. You may choose either location, subject to availablitity.
Do you ever teach outside of the studio?
Yes, if it is an organized group community lesson (after-school enrichment, for example) or a lesson for a special circumstances student that maybe cannot travel themselves. However the majority of lessons take place at the Studio.
When are lessons offered?
Lessons are offered Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm.
Is there an age limit?
We accept students from the age of 5, although the little ones would have to undergo a tinsy-winsy evaluation beforehand to see if they are ready. There is no upper age limit!
What types of lessons do you offer?
The majority of lessons offered are in groups. However, privates are available if circumstances dictate.
All lessons are weekly with private lessons being 25 minutes long and group lessons being 30+ minutes long, depending upon class size.
(It has been found that students actually learn better and faster in the group environment than in individual lessons. This is due to the interactive group dynamic that develops in each class. The lessons are a great combination of learning by doing, by watching others, by tutoring/mentoring others, by group musical activities. A real sense of community and group support develops among the students, and this is a large part of the success of the Simply Music program).
