Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember.I caught the music bug from my parents who both loved to sing. My father regularly performing in clubs across London in the 1950′s and 60′s.

My own music career began with traditional piano lessons a the age of 7, which I embraced but never really enjoyed. To be honest, it never occurred to me to actually enjoy what I was playing. I was more pre-occupied with keeping on top of all the theory, reading and technicalities to ever sit down and play for fun. So, after many years of trudging through lessons, when I left for college my piano started to gather dust. It was several years later that music, once again, come into my life. I started performing several local bands and musical theatre productions and I had four children of my own, all of whom gravitated towards music just as I had done many years before. Needless to say my house is now filled to the brim with a mixture of pianos, keyboards, drum kits, bass, acoustic and electric guitars! It was at that point that I discovered the Simply Music® piano program. An absolutely amazing breakthrough in piano instruction where you learn to play pop, blues, and classical immediately, right from your very first lesson. This Australian developed program produces extraordinary results for students of all ages and backgrounds. Being curious I, of course, had to find out for myself and promptly enrolled two of my children as guinea pigs! Well, the experience has been amazing! In a few short weeks they were playing blues and classical pieces and, more importantly, they were enjoying it. In fact, I sometimes have to remind them to leave the piano and go and eat dinner! Witnessing something so amazing prompted me to put my own piano training to good use, and so I became a qualified Simply Music piano teacher myself. Having witnessed the transformation first hand meant that I couldn’t ignore such a great opportunity to share the experience with others and pass on the love and enjoyment of performing (the little tickle you get in your tummy when you receive your first applause is wonderful!)
Music is much too precious and everybody, regardless of age, has the ability within them to learn how to play, easily and quickly. Guaranteed! Lorraine Williams, |
